William Earl Tison

Whiteville: William Earl Tison, 83 of Whitevile died Monday, June 4, 2018 .He was the son of  the late Hampton Dewitt Tison and Alma Long Tison. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Earl Tison, brothers, Murle Tison and Lloyd Tison , sisters, Lois Rhuvene King, Virginia Butler  and Doris Hamaker and an infant sister, Ellen Tison.

 He was a member of Emerson Freewill Baptist Church. He was a retired Tech  Sergeant  in the U.S. Air force for 21 years  and served during the Gulf War.

He is survived by a sister, Jewell Williams of Ash, NC; special friend and caregiver, Yvonne Strickland of Green Sea, SC; step-son, Kevin Strickland of Las Vegas, NV, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:15 pm, Friday, June 8, 2018 at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel followed by a funeral service at 2:30 pm by Rev. Heath Connor.  Burial will follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery and Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force.
