William Leonard Chapman, age 88, of Whiteville, NC, died Sunday at Liberty Commons in Whiteville. William was born on November 7, 1932 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Samuel Chapman and Mabel Walker Chapman. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Alice Chapman, wife; Mary Chapman and also his wife, Tiny Chapman, his sisters; Ruth Saillard and Shirley Darling, and brothers; Samuel Chapman, Ronald Chapman, and Paul Chapman.
He worked for Kaiser Chemical and was a member of Cheerful Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by 3 brothers; Eugene Chapman of Moyock, NC, Douglas Chapman of Newport News, Va, and Wayne Chapman of Roanoke, Va, one daughter; Tammie Norris (Ronnie) of Whiteville, 4 sons; Robert Chapman and William Chapman both of Madison, Tn, Patrick Chapman (Vickie) and Mark Chapman (Sandi) both of Whiteville, grandchildren; Kevin Norris (Valerie), Bradley Norris (Kristy), Kayla Bunch (Justin), Kaitlin Chapman, Haley Chapman, Anthony Chapman and Dustin Chapman, and great-grandchildren; Ryleigh Bunch, Brayden Bunch, Addisyn Bunch, Samuel Norris and Henry Norris.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Cheerful Hope Church Cemetery, Delco, NC with Rev. Chris Canuel officiating.
Attendees are asked to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
