Sue Ellis Jordan Obituary

Sue Ellis Jordan, age 70, of Whiteville, NC, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Whiteville, NC.  Sue was born in Columbus County to the late William L. Ellis and Barbara Ann Best Ellis on August 21, 1950. 

She was a graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, Tn. in 1973.  Sue then moved to Whiteville, NC where she started teaching at Whiteville Primary School where she taught  First Grade for 29 years.  She was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Teachers Organization.  Sue was a member of Whiteville First Baptist Church where she taught a children's Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir.  She was also a member of the Aza-Melia Garden Club and the Whiteville Women's Civic League.

She is survived by her husband; David Carl Jordan of Whiteville, a daughter; Katherine J. Scott (Ethan) of Whiteville, a son; Ellis Jordan (Taylor) of Clarkton, NC, three brothers; Bill Ellis (Debra) of Lenoir, NC, Wayne Ellis (Rhonda) of Wilson, NC, and Vann Ellis (Jan) of Apex, NC, two sisters; Yvette Ellis Meggs (Jerry) of Raleigh, NC and Georgeanna Ellis Phillips (Gary) of McGee's Crossroads, NC, and grandchildren; Addison Grant Jordan, River Scott, and Madelyn Scott.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 11 am in the Western Prong Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mason Smith officiating. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Whiteville First Baptist Church Music Ministry, 412 N. Madison St, Whiteville, NC 28472.
