Ruth Rosenthal Moore Glass, age 97, of Whiteville, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Columbus Regional Healthcare.  Ruth was born on June 12, 1926 to the late Matthew Kenan Moore and Ruth Formyduval Moore in Goldsboro, NC.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; John Bristol Glass.

Ruth worked as a secretary. She was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church in Whiteville, NC.

Left to cherish her memory are her son; John Bristol Glass, Jr of New York, NY, her daughter; Gertrude “Trudy” Glass of Summerville, SC, grandchildren; Kathryn “Katie” Elizabeth Guthrie, John Carl Guthrie, John Bristol Glass, III, and Marietta Glass Fieger.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 11:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 105 S. Madison St., Whiteville, with the Rev. Charles F. Walton, Jr officiating.  The committal service will be at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery at 2:30 pm.  The family will receive friends at the residence after the memorial service.
