Obituary
Robert Lee Hilbourn, age 76, of Whiteville, NC, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Robert was born in Columbus County to the late Leroy Hilbourn and Margaret Walker Hilbourn on February 25, 1947. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother; Bob Hilburn, three sisters; Gladys Watts, Bonnie Strickland, and Betty Dawson and special niece; Sylvia Hobbs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Wanda Ward Hilbourn, two sons; Robbie Hilbourn (Joanne) and Jeff Hilbourn (Michelle) both of Whiteville, two daughters; Susan Hilbourn (Emily) of Whiteville and Miranda Blackwell (Tracey) of Cerro Gordo, two brothers; Rudy Hilburn (Faye) of Evergreen and Cecil Hilburn of Hallsboro, grandchildren; Jeffrey Elkins Hilbourn, Jr, Daniel Hilbourn, Rose Hilbourn, Hannah Todd (Scott), Nolan Blackwell (Peyton), Lily Blackwell, Aidyn HIlbourn, Ian Ray, Caden Bullard, Jade Hardie, Emmanuel Hardie, Savion'na Hardie and Malia Richardson, and great grandchildren; Sawyer Todd, Harper Todd, and Peyton Hardie.
A graveside service will be held at Walker Cemetery, Whiteville, NC at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, with Rev. Roger Coffee officiating.
McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson St., Whiteville, NC is serving the Hilbourn family.
