Rev. Lyndon Douglas Purifoy

Rev. Lyndon Douglas Purifoy died Monday, July 26, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  He was born in New Bern, NC on October 3, 1957 to the late Rev. McElree Purifoy and Julia Batson Purifoy.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Michael Purifoy and Emerson Thompson.

Rev. Purifoy was a pastor for over 40 years.  He was pastor at Covenant Community Church and most recently was a teaching pastor at Northwood Assembly in Whiteville, NC

He is survived by his wife; Penny Teresa Purifoy of Whiteville, three sons; Nathan Purifoy (Jessica) of Lakeland, Fla, Aaron Purifoy (Leah) of Pfafftown, NC and Daniel Purifoy (Amy) of Lakeland, Fla, and three grandchildren; Naomi Purifoy, Malakai Purifoy and Ella Purifoy.

A memorial service for Rev. Purifoy will be held on September 11, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Northwood Church, 2672 James B. White Hwy. N., Whiteville, NC.
