Myra Kathleen High Britt, age 64, of Fayetteville, NC (formerly of Whiteville) passed away peacefully Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Angel House in Whiteville. Kathleen was born in Columbus County on September 24, 1957 to Darca Hooks High and the late Allen Hubert High.

She worked as a legal assistant and worked for law firms in Whiteville, Lumberton, and Fayetteville over the course of her career. She was active in local civic organizations, including local legal assistant organizations.  Kathy was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Gray's Creek, NC.

In addition to her mother, left to cherish her memory are her husband; Neil Mac Britt, Fayetteville, NC, and a brother Allen H. High, Jr. of Whiteville, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel at 3:00 pm with Rev. Todd Padgett officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 pm prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Floyd Cemetery, Fairmont, NC. (The family requests that guests wear mask.)
