Mona Faye Tarte

Mona Faye McPherson Tarte age 85, passed away at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center Wilmington on December 27, 2020.  Mona was born June 27, 1935, to the late Clarence McPherson and Maybelle McPherson of Beaverdam.

Born in the Beaverdam community she spent over fifty years working, the last forty at The News Reporter. Above all, her greatest asset was her tremendous heart filled with love, kindness and generosity towards her beloved husband and best friend, her family and friends; especially her 5 grandchildren. She was so excited to become a great grandmother in early 2021.

Although her passing has left a great sadness and void, her example she left behind will never be forgotten.  What a blessing.

She is survived by her daughter Sheree Tarte Heisler (Darrell) of Matthews, her son Phillip Tarte Jr. of Wilmington; her grandchildren Tate Alexander Heisler (Durham); Callie Heisler Carter (Hunter) of Alpharetta GA; Phillip Landon Heisler of Nashville TN; Phillip Masen Tarte of Wilmington; and Nealey Collier Tarte of Wilmington.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, in the Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. DeWayne Dickerson officiating. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville is serving the family.
