Mark Lane Stanley, Sr, also known to many as “Granddaddy”, age 69, of Leland, NC, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at North Chase Nursing & Rehab in Wilmington, NC.  Lane was born in Atlanta, GA on April 29, 1956, to the late Ray Lewis Stanley and Eula Mae Scoggins Stanley.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister.

Upon graduating high school, he worked all his adult life as a carpenter.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter; Ashley McDermott (Ryan) of Leland, two sons; Mark Lane Stanley, Jr. (Carmen) of Wilmington, NC and Jonathon Stanley (Love) of Riegelwood, NC, a brother; Lew Stanley of Hillsborough, NC, a sister; Linda Stanley of Fenton, MO, grandchildren; Reagan Bullard, Avery Bullard, Ethan Stanley and Connor Stanley, and special friend; Kathleen. four nieces; Linda Bonsdale, Lorie Bonsdale, Patti Bonsdale, Melissa Stanley and one nephew; Truitt Stanley.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:00 am at Bridge of Life Church, 2220 Mercantile Dr. NE, Leland, NC 28451 with Rev. Jerome Bullard officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bridge of Life building fund.

McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson Street, Whiteville, NC is serving the Stanley family.
