Louise Walters Powell

Louise Walters Powell, age 82, of Whiteville, died Friday, January 10, 2020 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Whiteville.  She was born August 29, 1937 to the late Allan Maxwell (Sandy) Walters & Mary Enzor Walters.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Bobby Ray Powell and a daughter; Cynthia Powell Rooks.

She worked for over 20 years as a Bank Branch Manager for Southern National Bank and was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son; Gregory Scott Powell (Melinda Sikes) of Whiteville, grandsons; Christopher Scott Powell, Eli David Griffin and Julius Michael Capozzoli, and one granddaughter; Heather Nicole Rooks.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at 11 am at Western Prong Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Wilson and Dr. Dave Heller officiating.  Burial will be at Union Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2020, from 6 - 8 pm at McKenzie Mortuary, Whiteville, NC.
