Lois Greene Smith

Lois Greene Smith, age 88, of Hallsboro, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  Lois was born on January 1, 1935 in Columbus County to the late John Wesley Greene and Christine Wilson Greene.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Horace Lee Smith, a son; Horace Dwight Smith, and two sisters; Nancy G. Israel and Louise G. Hill.

She was a member at Hallsboro Methodist Church.

Lois is survived by her three sons; John Christopher Smith of Hallsboro, Mark Todd Smith of Tabor City, and Forrest G. Smith (Melanie) of Wilmington, a Daughter in Law; Daniese Smith of Browns Summit, NC, four Grandchildren; Christi Collins (Chris), Sarah Johnson (Clayton), Madison Smith and Chandler Smith, and one Great Granddaughter; Caitlyn Grace Collins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Hallsboro Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Hankins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pierce Cemetery, Hallsboro, NC.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 pm prior to the service.
