Obituary
J.C. "Doc" Adams, Sr, age 77, of Hallsboro, NC, passed away at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC, Monday, June 12, 2023. Doc was born on May 2, 1946 in Columbus County to the late Clyde Adams, Sr and Edna Coleman Adams. In addition to his parents, Doc is preceded in death by two brothers; William and Richard Adams and one sister; Mary Adams Pridgen.
He was employed at International Paper for 34 years. Doc loved fishing, hunting, and running dogs. He was a member of the Honey Hill Hunting Club.
He is survived by two sons; Joseph Adams, Jr (Kellie) of Conway, SC and Jason Adams (Carol) of Leland, NC, four grandchildren; Colten Adams, Braydan Adams, Carter Adams and Madison Adams, three nephews; Lacy Pridgen, Ronnie Pridgen, and Richard Pridgen, one niece; Donna Kay Singletary and several great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Darrin Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
