Johnny Sasser, age 74, of Whiteville, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center.  Johnny was born in Marion, SC to the late Albert J. Sasser and Vera Pauline Simmons Sasser.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers; Vance Sasser, David Sasser and Doug Sasser and sister; Carrie Sasser Hood.

Johnny loved his work at Black’s Tire which he did for 43 years.  He loved taking care of his yard and his dog.  All the family loved his cooking and this made Thanksgiving and Christmas a big event around the Sasser home.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years; Renee Cribb Sasser of the home, a daughter; Hailey Sasser also of the home, two nephews; Jesse James Sasser and Paul Sasser of Whiteville, sister; Mary Magoline Cribb of Lumberton, brother; Luke Edward Sasser of Florida and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at McKenzie Mortuary on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 6 – 8 pm.  No other services will be held.
