Jeanette Tippins Rogers

Jeanette Tippins Rogers, age 85, of Whiteville, passed away peacefully Friday, July 17, 2020. She was born on March 29, 1935 in Claxton, Georgia to the late James Guyton Tippins, Sr. and Katie Spears Tippins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Ralph Lacey Rogers and her brother; Dr. James Guyton Tippins, Jr.

Jeanette was a registered nurse for 25 years and for 16 of those years at Bladen County Hospital.  She taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church, Whiteville, was treasurer for the Whiteville Women's Aglow Chapter and was active in the Yokefellows Prison Ministry for 20 plus years.  She enjoyed reading, knitting and studying her Bible.  Jeanette graduated from McCleneghan High School, Florence, S.C. and the McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing. She was a former member of Whiteville First Baptist Church and had attended Living Word Church.  She was a current member of the Missionary Alliance Church of Whiteville, NC

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters; Mary Lynn Rogers of Whiteville and Susan R. Duncan (Greg) of Whiteville, NC, two sons; William Michael Rogers of High Point, NC and Ralph Lee Rogers (Sandra) of Raleigh, NC, five grandsons; David Rogers, of Raleigh, NC, Daniel Rogers of Raleigh, NC, Brandon Duncan of Whiteville, NC, Joshua Duncan of Whiteville, NC and Luke Duncan of Whiteville, NC.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Crabtree and Rev. Bobby Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missionary Alliance Church of Whiteville, PO Box 1100, Whiteville, NC  28472.

The family requests that those attending the service dress casual and bring an umbrella for protection from the heat.
