Janice McQueen Temanson, 82, of Cary, NC, died Friday, May 19, 2023. The daughter of the late Felton and Lucille Hughes McQueen, she was born in Whiteville, North Carolina on November 21, 1940.
She graduated from Whiteville High School and Campbell University with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a teacher in Virginia Beach where she met her husband of 57 years when he was stationed in the U.S. Navy.
She was survived by her husband, Glen Temanson of Cary; one brother, Craig McQueen (Julie) of Fuquay Varina; one son Brock Temanson (Tracy) of Aldie, Va.; one daughter Paige Leavel (Rob) of Holly Springs; two grandchildren, Kristen Leavel of Cary and Amanda Temanson of Richmond, Va.; two nephews, Drew McQueen (Ashley) and Clark McQueen (Tia) and four great nephews all of Fuquay Varina.
Janice and Glen lived and raised their children in Reston, Virginia before retiring to Bonita Springs, Florida. They recently relocated from Mount Dora, Fl. to Cary, North Carolina to be closer to family.
