Obituary
Jamison Lane Buffkin, age 81, of Whiteville, NC, passed away at Novant New Hanover Medical Center on Monday, May 15, 2023. Lane was born on October 3, 1941 in Columbus County to the late Jamison Edward Buffkin and Lucille Strickland Buffkin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons; Jamie and Michael Sellers, a son in law; Steven Teleky, Jr, a brother; Kenny Buffkin, and three sisters; April Gray, Linda Hopkins, and Donna Shelly.
Lane worked as a technician for Carolina Telephone Company and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Whiteville, NC.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Brenda Sue S. Buffkin, two daughters; Dana Gore (Delond) and Misty Teleky both of Tabor City, a son; Harris Kelton Williams of Ocracoke, NC, a brother; Terry Buffkin of Loris, SC, a sister; Mary Oberin of Cameron Park, CA, 10 grandchildren; Kayla Miller (Matt), Noah Teleky (Lexie), Megan Sellers (Noble), Amanda Ott (Justin), Christopher Sellers (Ly), Brandon Williams, Olivia Williams, Bell Williams, Mike Sellers Jr, and J.T. Sellers and 16 great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with Dr. Darrin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 pm prior to the service.
McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson St., Whiteville, NC will be serving the Buffkin family.
