James Albert (J.A.) Young, age 85, of Hallsboro, NC, died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital, Whiteville, NC. J.A. was born in Columbus County to the late Audrey Young and Grace Sasser. He worked in Construction as a Certified Welder and Boiler Maker. He was a member of Hallsboro United Methodist Church. J.A. was preceded in death by his Companion Elsie Creech Hayes; Nephew, Terry Strickland; Great Niece, Ashley Grace Soles.
He is survived by two sisters, JoAnn Young Watts of Hallsboro, NC; Jacqueline Young Strickland of Whiteville, NC; Nieces, Janet Soles (Michael), Audrey Brown (Heath) and Jean Hyatt; Nephews, Jeffie Sellers and Jerry Strickland.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lake Waccamaw, NC, Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 3:00 PM.
In addition to flowers, Memorials may be made to Hallsboro United Methodist Church, PO Box 28, Hallsboro, NC 28442.
