Hiawatha Lupo Cook, age 92, formerly of Whiteville, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Liberty Commons of Southport, NC.  She was born in Columbus County on January 24, 1928 to the late Herbert Lorenzo Lupo and Rebecca Hoover Lupo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; William (Billy) Brown Cook.

Hiawatha was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Whiteville.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons; William B. Cook, Jr. (Leigh) and Christopher Lupo Cook both of Whiteville, five grandchildren; William Kyle Cook, Matthew Gray Cook (Brittany), Jackson Worley Cook, Haley Cook Wayne (Justin), and John Lawson Cook, three great grandchildren; Avery Wayne, Stetson Wayne, and Holden Cook.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:00 am at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Lee Price and Rev. Eddie Fort officiating.
