Harvie Gene Anderson

Harvie Gene Anderson, age 81, of Whiteville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Shoreland Health and Rehabilitation.  Harvie was born on February 21, 1942 in Columbus County to the late Joseph Fate Anderson and Essie Housand Anderson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife; Barbara Inman Anderson,  two brothers; Horace Anderson and Carlyle Anderson and a grandchild; Ashley Madison

Harvey worked as a machinist at National Spinning for several years.

Left to cherish his memory are his son; Allen Gene Anderson (Tammie) of Whiteville, his daughter; Tansy A. Norris (Greg) also of Whiteville, brothers; Charles Anderson of Winston Salem and Larry Anderson of Whiteville, three sisters; Deloris A. Jones of Ft. Mill, SC, Marie A. Holden of Tabor City and Hilda A. Holland of Ft. Mill, SC, granddaughter; Leanne Anderson, grandson; Shane Norris and great grandchildren; Skyler Hamilton, Gracie Norris, and Malorie Norris.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson Street, Whiteville, NC  is serving the Anderson family.
