Obituary

Grady Marshall Norton, age 83, of Clarkton, NC passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Whiteville.  Grady was born on April 25, 1940 in Richmond County to the late Clayton Norton and Janie Roscoe Norton.  In addition to his parents, Grady is preceded in death by his wife; Evelyn Walters Norton, a son; Andy Norton and a brother; Charles "CJ" Norton.

He served his country in the United States Navy.  Grady worked as a railroad conductor for 38 years and a member of Western Prong Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his son; Clayton Marshall Norton of Raleigh, two grandchildren; Nash Norton and Leanna Norton both of Tokyo, Japan, and two brothers; Jimmy Norton of Jacksonville, Florida and Danny Norton of Whiteville, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 3:00 pm in Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Warren Hill officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Prong Baptist Church Library, 167 Peacock Rd., Whiteville, NC  28472.
