Grace Blaha Palmer

Grace Blaha Palmer, 93 of Whiteville passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Liberty Commons.  She was born in Chicago to the late James Blaha and Libby Chalupnicek and was preceded in death by her husband,  Elton L." Lee" Palmer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother to her family and was a devout Christian. She was a member of the Whiteville First Presbyterian Church where she served as an honorary Life Member, Elder, and past president of the women of the church. She served on the Board of Trustees  with Chapel by the Sea, Holden Beach .She was very civic oriented and worked as a Real Estate Agent with Century 21 for over twenty years. She was a member of the AzaMellia Garden Club and was very active with the Boy and Girl Scouts of America.

Mrs. Palmer is survived by her daughter; Sharon P. Youngblood (Joe) of Greensboro, NC; sons, Douglas Lamar Palmer (Genie) of Whiteville, NC, and Thomas James Palmer (Margaret) of Whiteville, NC; sister, Arlene J. Blaha of Whiteville, NC; 7 grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Whiteville First Presbyterian Church at 11am.  with Rev. Dr. Joseph D. Washburn officiating  with burial following in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. Visitation, Friday, December 27th from 5-7pm at McKenzie Mortuary .
