Frances Brown Turner

Frances Brown Turner, age 85, of Whiteville, passed away at Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC, on Monday, November 6, 2023.  She was born on July 4, 1938 in Columbus County to the late Robert Carl Brown, Sr and Mattie L. Chance Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; Calvin Leon Turner of Whiteville, three sons; Calvin Leon Turner, Jr. (Beverly), Elliott Dean Turner (Robin) and Francis Neal Turner (Tracy) all of Whiteville, grandchildren; Jessica T. Hughes, Michele T. Briley, Elliott Dalton Turner, Chase Turner, Nikki T. Long, and Justin Turner, and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 3:30 pm at Western Prong Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:15 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Prong Baptist Church, DOC Building Fund, 167 Peacock Rd., Whiteville, NC  28472.
