Florena "Flossie" Ellis Gause, age 80, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear Angel House, Whiteville, NC. Flossie was born in Columbus County on December 20, 1943 to the late Junior Ellis and Carlene Price Ellis.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Leyton Gause and a sister; Doris E. Penny.

She worked for several years at the Holiday Motel making sure rooms were cleaned and ready for the next guests.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Allen Batten of Whiteville, two sisters; Ruth Price of Whiteville and Frances Ellis of Wilmington, NC, a brother; Ernest Ellis of Whiteville, a granddaughter; Andrea Sellers of Thomasville, NC, two grandsons; Alex Batten (Becky) and Lloyd McGee both of Whiteville, two great grandchildren and a special "fur baby"; Trouble.

A graveside service will be held in Flynn Cemetery on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 2:30 pm with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery prior to the service.
