Obituary
Doris Mae Wilson Flynn, age 94, of Cerro Gordo, NC, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Columbus Regional Healthcare, Whiteville. She was born on November 22, 1928 in Columbus County to the late Herbert Wilson and Mabelle Powell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Henry Elijah Flynn, three brothers; Joe Wilson, William "Bill" Wilson and John Allen Wilson, Sr, and an infant sister; Mary Maxine Wilson.
Doris loved to play golf and watch wrestling. She was a bookkeeper for E.W. Godwin Building Materials and Federal Paperboard.
Left to cherish her memory are her great nephew; John Allen Wilson III, nephews; Rodney Wilson of Lake Waccamaw and Sam Wilson of Hallsboro, NC, great great niece; Jenna Wilson, great great nephew; Connor Wilson, and many other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 11 am in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Donald Conway officiating.
