David Ray Sarvis Obituary

David Ray Sarvis, 64, of Hallsboro went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2022  in Lynchburg, VA with his children by his side. He was born in Columbus County on April 15, 1958 to the late Oscar and Nettie Sarvis.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a  sister Joyce Ward, and brother Daniel "Danny" Sarvis.


He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother. He wore a smile and shared a laugh that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. 

He leaves behind his son Christopher Sarvis and wife Christina, daughter Ava Lewis and husband Paul, grandchildren Leigha, Callie, Colton, and Carter, brothers Bobby and Jimmy Sarvis, and sister Jeanette Barnhill.


A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11 am in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lake Waccamaw.  The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary.
