David Purvis Watts

Whiteville: David Purvis Watts, 86 of Whiteville died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Whiteville. He was the son of the late David Neil Watts and Theolia Mae Carroll Watts and was preceded in death by a brother; James L. Watts.  He worked for Carolina Power & Light for over 40 years  and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; Barbara Gibson Watts of the home., sons; David Allen Watts, James Daryl Watts and John Carroll Watts all of Richmond, Va.   Four Grandchildren; Hannah Catherine Watts, David Taylor Watts, Caleb Mason Watts and Brittany Morgan Watts.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, October 15,2017 at 3:00 p.m. at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Mike Bowles and Rev. David A. Watts officiating with burial following in the Columbus Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 15,2017 at McKenzie Mortuary from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
