Daniel Shelley Obituary

Daniel DeLane Shelley, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior June 08, 2020 at his home.

He was born October 20, 1947 in Whiteville, the son of the late DJ Shelley and Esther Hinson Shelley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Keith Shelley and Jerry Shelley and a sister Dixie Shelley Nobles.

He attended Grace Episcopal Church in Whiteville. His lifetime careers consisted of NC Agriculture Extension, Soil Conservation Service, Owner of Middle Earth Inc., and property manager for various companies.

He was a humble, compassionate man who served God and never met a stranger. He was a Husband, Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, Father-in-Law, Uncle, Brother-in-Law, Brother and Friend. He loved life and his family and he was loved.

DeLane is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years Susan Barden Shelley, two sons Kevin Shelley, wife Holly Shelley, Eric Shelley, wife Shannon Shelley, six grandchildren Jacqueline, Cassey, Isabel, Mia, Emme, Sophie, one great grandchild Hudsyn, and one brother Wayne Shelley, wife Roberta Shelley.

A private graveside service will be held at the family cemetery in Whiteville. A Fellowship of life will be held for friends and family at a later date.
