Cynthia "Cindy" White Hooks

Cynthia "Cindy" White Hooks, age 64, of Charleston, SC (formerly of Whiteville), went home to her Savior Saturday, March 13, 2021.  She was the daughter of the late W. Bernard and Leda Larrimore White.  

She is survived by her husband; Edward T. Hooks of the home and beloved daughter; Misty Soles Nunnery of Shallotte, NC. Cindy is also survived by her dearly loved nephew- niece; Caleb and Nailah of the home, by her sisters; Bernadine W. Brown of Rock Hill, SC; Wendy W. Marshburn (Wade) of Chadbourn, NC and brother; W. Bernard White of Chadbourn, NC. She was loved by nieces and nephews-Carmen Brown, Elliott Brown, Quinna M. Lawson (Phillip), Oliver Lawson, Isaac Lawson, and Ethan W. Marshburn.  

Cindy retired from Columbus County Courthouse as Assistant Clerk of Court.  She loved her "courthouse" family and served over 30 years there. Cindy was an avid gardener with a green thumb like her mother.  She enjoyed reading, fishing, and the beach.  She loved her family and will truly be missed. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:45 pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC, followed by a service at 4:00 pm with Rev. Yates Powell, IV officiating.  At other times the family will be at the home of Wade & Wendy Marshburn, 10659 Peacock Rd., Chadbourn, NC.  The public is asked to wear masks and to practice social distancing during the visitation and funeral.
