Obituary
Clara Wooten Hunsucker, affectionately known as “Ms. Clara” holding the hand of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully slipped into Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, while at home surrounded by her loving family. Oh, what a happy reunion it must have been when she was reunited with loved ones awaiting her arrival there.
She was born Clara Hooks Harrelson to the late Robert Fulton Harrelson, Sr. and Priccie Hooks Harrelson in Green Sea, SC on June 4, 1928.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings and husband, James “Jim” Hunsucker.
She is survived by her children, Janice Wooten Strub (Mike) of Little River, SC; Jo Wooten Moore (Randy) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Marion Patrick Wooten, Jr. (Judy) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Thomas Fulton Wooten, Western Prong, NC; grandsons, Elliot Wooten of Calabash, NC; Chris Collier (Dana) and great-grandsons, Pearce, Jack and Tate Collier of Garner, NC. Step-daughter Sherry H. Kern (Danny) of Whiteville, NC and step sister-law Edwina Jonas of Rock Hill, SC, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel in Whiteville, NC at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers “Ms. Clara” asks that you show an act of kindness to other in her memory.
