Claire DeCarli Love, age 85, of Whiteville passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.  She was born in Cacador, Santa Caterina, Brazil to the late Angelo Miguel DeCarli and Virginia Maffisoni  DeCarli on December 9, 1938.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Robert Berry “Bobby” Love, Sr. and a daughter; Elizabeth Love Hall.

Claire graduated from Catholic School in Brazil as Valedictorian of her class.  She was fluent in several languages. She was married in Brazil to the love of her life; Robert Berry “Bobby” Love, Sr., and then moved to the United States in 1960.  She graduated from Southeastern Community College with an Associate Degree and worked at Columbus Regional Hospital as an LPN for over 30 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her son; Robert Berry Love, Jr. (Sandra) of Whiteville, grandchildren; Kelly Marie Love Nelson (Matt) and Robert  Darius “Ri” Love (Emily) and three great grandchildren; Luke, Liam and Ryleigh.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 am with Father G. Fernando Melendez officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the residence: 412 E. Lewis Street, Whiteville, NC.

The family wants to thank all the caregivers as well as the nurses and staff of Liberty Hospice.  In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice, 44 McNeill Plaza, Whiteville, NC  28472.
