Catherine L. Castillo Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine (Cathy) L. Castillo, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Cathy passed away peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy.

Born on December 31, 1962 in Imperial Beach, CA, Cathy lived a life full of warmth and kindness. Above all, her greatest accomplishments were her children, Haley and Shane, whom she cherished deeply. Cathy's love for her family knew no bounds. She was a devoted mother, wife, and sister, always putting her loved ones first.

Cathy had a special place in her heart for animals, and she was often found outdoors, enjoying nature with her dog Fiona by her side. She loved traveling and creating memories with her family, and she could always be found at the center of any gathering, making others laugh with her infectious personality. A true bright light, Cathy had an unparalleled ability to bring joy to those around her with her bright spirit and sense of humor.

A hard worker with a generous heart, Cathy was known for her selflessness and willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand. She leaves behind countless fond memories, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband, John Castillo; daughter Haley Hufton(Jesse) of Leland; son Shane Castillo of Wilmington; sister Bessie Blum (Jim) of Lakeland, TN; brother Tom Abramson (Carol) of Imperial Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.
