Carol Lynn Scherer Bright, age 63, of Hallsboro, NC, passed away at Columbus Regional Healthcare on Monday, January 27, 2025. Carol was born in Berwyn, IL on June 1, 1961, to the late Nicholes Andrew Scherer and Anna May Marquett Scherer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Bright (November 2024), a brother; Tommy and a sister; Theresa.

Carol worked as a Veterinary Tech for several different animal hospitals.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Rebekkah Lauren Bright of Beulaville, NC, grandchildren; Ciarra, Julian and Angelo, sisters; Loretta Elswick (Steve) of West Virginia, Cindy, Eleanor, Donna, a brother; Arthur Scherer of Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating.  Burial will follow in Flynn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 pm prior to the service.
