Carl Yates Warwick, Sr.

Carl Yates Warwick, Sr., age 79, of Hallsboro, NC, passed away peacefully at Premier Living & Rehab Center of Lake Waccamaw on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Carl was born July 9, 1941. He was the son of the late George Yates Warwick and Bessie Olivia Stadler Warwick. He served in the Coast Guard after graduating from high school, and then worked briefly at the railroad before beginning his career at Federal Paper. Carl retired from International Paper (Federal Paper), after 40 years of service. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed being outside. He loved spending time at his house on the sound, where he could fish anytime he wanted. He will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Warwick; a daughter, Alice Dellinger and husband, Dariel, of Stanley, NC ; a son, Yates Warwick and wife, Kim, of Iron Station, NC ; son-in-law, A.B. Collins; five grandchildren: Gray Dellinger (Katy), Riley Dellinger (Emily), Samantha Warwick (Madison), Shelby Warwick, and Christian Warwick; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Natalie Dellinger; his brother, Allen Warwick, and his wife, Janis, and their children and grandchildren. Carl also had 3 step-children: Kelland Thompson, of Wilmington, Tonya Thompson, of Wilmington, and Art Thompson (Paula), of Whiteville; step-grandchildren: Dakota Thompson, Coleton Thompson, Mariah Thompson, Ricky House (Madison), Sadie Thompson, Tyler Thompson, and 8 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Collins, and his infant granddaughter, Olivia Crockett Dellinger.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Hallsboro Church of God, Hallsboro, NC.  Committal service will follow at Pierce Cemetery, Hallsboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Life Care, 206 Warrior Trail Road, Whiteville, NC 28472.
