Calvin James Colby, age 77, of Lunenburg, VT (also of Leland, NC) passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care, Wilmington, NC.  Calvin was born in Coos County, NH, on December 18, 1947 to the late Lee Colby and Margaret Monahan Colby.

After graduating from high school, Calvin eventually made farming his career as he tended the family farm in Vermont.  He enjoyed riding ATV’s and 4 Wheeling on trails and family trips to West Virginia.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Brett Colby (Gretchen) and Brandon Colby (Tina) both of Leland, NC, his daughter; Cara Colby (Darrell) of Groveton, NH, Grandchildren; Emily Victor of Glenview, IL Alexis Colby of Leland, NC, Noah Bodnar of Wilmington, NC, Parker Colby, Sean Colby, Layne Colby and Macy Colby all of Leland, NC, Siblings: Lee Colby (Linda), Craig Colby (Sally), Amy Colby, Brian Colby and Shannon Richman.

Services will be held in Vermont at a date to be announced.
