Bobby Joe Ward

Bobby Joe Ward, 64, of Whiteville, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 24, 2023. He was born in Whiteville, NC on June 30, 1958 to Joseph and Berline Ward of Hallsboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Henry Ward and Berline Carroll Ward, brother; William Henry Ward and infant sister.

As a man of true integrity, Bobby was employed by Council Tool Company of Lake Waccamaw for 45 years. There, his honesty and commitment to his work showed every day, helping pave the way for the next generation of tool makers. While there was never a dull moment when you were around Bobby, when it came down to getting the job done, there was no one more committed to doing just that.

A friend and a positive influence to everyone he met, Bobby loved spending time with his family and friends, going to church, being outdoors, gardening, camping, going to living history events, building models, fishing, cooking, and restoring antique garden tractors.

Bobby was truly a great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends, who love him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew.

Bobby, the most loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend is survived by his wife; Marshia Thompson Ward, son; Jason Robert Ward, daughter; Casey Ward Grice (Travis); 2 bonus sons; Christopher Keith Ward (Chris), Jason Apollo Ward, 3 grandchildren; Hailey Danielle Housend, Adam Joseph Ward, Abigail Rose Grice, two aunts; Ann Cartrette and Janice Stamey and many special friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Christian Harvest Church, 10526 Hallsboro Rd. S., Whiteville, with Rev. Larry Cartrette officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Church Cemetery, Whiteville. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary, Whiteville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angel House Hospice Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC.
