Betty Lou Williams Lewis, age 84, of Shallotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at McLeod Seacoast Health Care.  Betty was born on September 14, 1940 to the late John Wesley Williams and Gladys Humphrey Williams.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Bruce Gordon Lewis, Jr. daughter; Lisa Lynn Horne, brothers; Clayton Williams and Thomas Williams, and sisters; Helen K. Patrick, Grace Sanderson and Frances Metallo.

Betty worked as an administrative assistant for over 30 years with Waccamaw Academy.  She was a long time member of Whiteville Methodist Church.  She loved to play bridge, go shopping, work in her yard and garden and morning walks with friends.  She enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her son; Bruce Gordon “Gordy” Lewis III (Michelle) of Shallotte, daughter; Lou Ann Butler (Revice) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, sisters; Alice Brown of Millers Creek, NC and Loretta Lanier Lassiter of Kinston, NC, grandchildren; Josh Butler (Morgan), Brooke Watts (Alex), Cole Bagwell, Oliva Clark (Blake), Carly Oxedine (Tyler) and Adelyn Lewis, and 9 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Asbury Methodist Church, Shallotte, NC, 883 Holden Beach Rd SW, Shallotte NC 28470 with Rev. Judy Jeremiah officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
