Beatrice Kay Palmer McDannald, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Whiteville.  Beatrice was born on January 29, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Rev. Harold Palmer and Dorothy Landis Palmer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters; Darline Bevins and Laraine Lunsford, and brothers; Alferd Palmer, John Palmer, and Bruce Palmer.

Beatrice had a career in child care and as a Nanny.  She loved the Lord and teaching Sunday School.  Beatrice was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Lumberton, NC. She was proud to be a finalist for "A Woman of Character" in the Hilltop community in Columbus, Ohio and going back to school as an adult to get her GED.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary Earl McDannald of Whiteville, a daughter; Terrie Kay Smith also of Whiteville, and three sons; George McClary and Eric McDannald both of Columbus, Ohio and Audy Ray McClary, three Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.

A funeral service celebrating Beatrice's life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00 am in McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. LeDon Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
