Barbara Ann Daughtrey Smith

Barbara Ann Daughtrey Smith, age 84, of Delco, passed unexpectedly on Monday, March 30, 2026, at her residence.  Barbara was born on June 4, 1941 in Currie, NC to the late Odell Daughtrey and Margaret Lewis Daughtrey.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth Franklin Smith, her daughter, Kim Marsh and six of her siblings.

Barbara worked for 31 years as a Greeter at Walmart in Monkey Junction.  She loved her job because she loved people.  Her other loves included her church, Gospel music, her kids and grandchildren, Waffle House and Bojangles.  She attended Smyrna Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Wendy Smith of Leland, her sons; Kenneth Smith II (Robin) and Michael Smith both of Delco and her son Leslie Frank Smith (Ashley) of Marble, PA, her sister; Frankie Daughtrey Saunders, grandchildren; Jamie Huff, Dedra Huff (Armando), Jeff Marsh, Trent Marsh, Aubree Smith, Grayson Smith, Logan Smith, Abigail Smith, Izayah Smith and Azalyn Smith, great grandchildren; Jacob, Madison, Avery, Leanna, Andrea, and great great grandchildren; Koan and Mea.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 3:00 pm in Delco Cemetery, Delco, with Rev. David Kelly officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:00 pm prior to the service and at other times at Barbara’s residence.
