Arlene June Blaha Obituary

Arlene June Blaha, 85 of Whiteville passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at Liberty Commons. She was born in Chicago to the late James Blaha and Libby Chalupnicek and was preceded in death by her Sister, Grace B. Palmer. She attended Whiteville First Presbyterian Church. She taught nursing at the University of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and South Carolina. . In 2001 she was the Executive Director of the Autism Society of Illinois. She also sang with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and performed with " The Music Man" for two years based at Goodman Theater.

Mrs.Arlene is survived by her nephews; Douglas L. Palmer (Genie) and Thomas James Palmer (Margaret) of Whiteville, NC; niece, Sharon P. Youngblood (Joe) of Greensboro, NC Mrs. Arlene also had several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Private Graveside service will be scheduled for a later date.
