Anna Jane Stanton Collier

Anna Jane Stanton Collier, age 87, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington, NC.  She was born on July 24, 1933 to the late Howard Stanton and Emma Alford Stanton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death in 2006 by her loving husband of 53 years; James Frederick Collier, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters; Margaret W. Curry of Mullins, SC and Mary W. Cook of Whiteville, NC.

Anna Jane was a graduate of Whiteville High School in 1951.  She was employed with the Columbus County Agriculture Extension office until 1966 when she started working with her husband, Fred, at Collier TV Appliance and Furniture until their retirement in 1997.  She was a longtime active member of First Presbyterian Church in Whiteville, NC

Anna Jane is survived by a Daughter; Marianne Collier Wayne (Greg) of Wilmington, NC, a Son; James "Jimmy" Frederick Collier III (Kathy) of Morristown, NJ, Grandchildren; Stanton Wayne Bissette (Thomas) of Wilmington, NC, Gregory Allen Wayne, Jr. (Melissa) of Wilmington, NC, Anna Wayne Streisel (Bobby) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Sara Beth Collier Duyck (Fred) of Raleigh, NC, Emily Collier Porter (Sutton) of Charlotte, NC, Maggie Collier of Nashville, TN and Brooks Collier of New York, NY, Also surviving are her 9 Great Grandchildren.

A Graveside Service has been planned for Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 511 N. Thompson St., Whiteville, NC  28472.
