Alicia Lewis Simmons, age 77, of Delco, NC passed away at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Saturday, May 25, 2024.  Alicia was born on June 17, 1946 in New Hanover County, NC to the late James Lewis and Clare Lewis.

She was a member of Riegelwood Baptist Church.  She worked as a secretary for New Hanover County Utilities Department.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; James Warren Simmons, Jr. of Delco, two sons and two daughters; Donald Wayne Chestnut (Michele), Theresa Marie Chestnut and Glenn Christopher Chestnut (companion; Katherinie Tew Smith) all of Wilmington and Tarrah Ann Novak (Mark) of Wallace, grandchildren; Zackary James Foy, Christopher Wayne Chestnut, Makayla Marie Lake, Natalie Claire Chestnut, Samantha LoriTara, Kimberly Michele Pearson and Charles Anthony Brown, and 11 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Riegelwood Baptist Church with Rev. Cameron Lewis officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am prior to the service.
