Robert Fields Tedder, 90 of Whiteville, NC died Monday, January 1, 2018 at Shoreland Health Care Center. Mr. Tedder was born in Columbus County, NC on November 9, 1927 the son of the late Julius Smith and Alice Batten Tedder.
He was retired as a Plant Operator at the Dupont Plant in Kinston, NC and was retired also from American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Mr. Tedder was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He was also member of the First Baptist Church of Whiteville and a former member of Spilman Memorial Baptist Church in Kinston, NC.
Surviving is his wife, Juanita Green Tedder of Hallsboro, NC; two daughters, Debrah K. Royer (Lee) of Atlanta, GA and Gail T. Ward (Doug) of Supply, NC; son, Kenneth B. Tedder (Terri) of Wilson, NC; two sisters, Annette T. Nemecek of Portland, Oregon and Nancy Jo Quincy of Southport, NC; brother, Frederick A. Tedder of Hallsboro, NC; five grandchildren, Douglas Ward (Lori), Andrea Watkins (Bo), Tara Sabatini (Frank), Adam Royer, and Bryan Tedder; eight great grandchildren, Rachel, Katlin and Lillian Ward, Isabella and Luke Sabatini, Zen Smith, Ellis and Elliott Watkins.
Funeral service will be Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 3:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Jerry Spivey, Rev. Lee Royer, and Dr. Doug Ward. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Flynn Cemetery in Whiteville, NC.
