Mary Powell McGirt

Hallsboro: Mary Powell McGirt, 96 of Hallsboro, N.C. died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John Olin Powell and Mariah Young Powell and was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan (D.E.) Enoch McGirt.
Mrs. McGirt was a member of the Hallsboro United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked for thirty years as a RN.
Survivors include a son, Curtis Powell McGirt of Hallsboro, N.C.; Daughters: Jeannie McGirt Arbegast of Ayden, N.C. and Karen McGirt Vannoy of Clear Water, Florida; Five Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bob Hankins officiating with burial following in Columbus Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018 at McKenzie Mortuary from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
