Marie Vondola (Jacobs) Simmons

Bolton: Marie Vondola Jacobs Simmons, 74 of Bolton, N.C. died Saturday, December 22, 2018 Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center of Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late Eddie Jacobs and Missouri Young. She was preceded in death by her Loving husband Dawson Lee Simmons Sr. and two brothers Harold Jacobs and Martin Jacobs.

Mrs. Simmons was a lifelong member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, Bolton, N.C. and worked as a social worker for Bladen County Department of Social Services 36 years. She was the owner and Operator of a Flower Shop out of her home for many years. She was a loving mother and wife.

Survivors include her Daughter: Vondia Simmons Williams (John) of Wilson, N.C.; Son: Dawson Lee Simmons, Jr (Debbie). of Council, N.C.; Brothers, Howard Truman Jacobs, Sr. of Bolton, NC. And Jerry Jacobs of Kelly, NC; Sister Ethel Patrick of Bolton, NC.; Several nieces and nephews. A special companion, Toots of the home.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Sinai Holiness Church with Elder Michael Jacobs, Rev. Howard T. Jacobs, Jr. and Rev. Jerry Groves officiating.   Burial will be at the Red Hill Cemetery, Bolton, N.C.

Visitation will be Thursday night, December 27, 2018 at the Mt. Sinai Holiness Church from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
