Lucille Mae McQueen Obituary

Whiteville: Lucille Mae Hughes McQueen, 96 of Whiteville died Thursday, November 2,2017 . She was the daughter of the late Jessie Ferd Hughes and Augusta Dillard  and the wife of Felton McQueen. She was preceded in death by brothers; Rev. Thomas Hughes, James Hughes, Robert Hughes, Jefferson Hughes,  and sisters; Sylvia Hughes Stephens and Kathleen Hughes Stanley.
She was a teacher in the children division of New Hope Baptist Church for many years. She worked as a retail clerk with Kramers’s Style Shop for over 30 years. She was a life long member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include  a daughter; Janice McQueen Temanson ( Glen)  of Mt. Dora , Florida.; son,  Craig McQueen (Julie) of Holly Springs, N.C. Grandchildren ; Drew McQueen (Ashley ) , Clark McQueen (Tia) both  of Fuquay Varina, N.C. , Brock Temanson (Tracy)  of Aldie, Va. and Paige Temanson Leavel of Richmond, Va. Great-Grandchildren;  Andrew McQueen , Caleb McQueen, Grant McQueen and  Reid McQueen all of Fuquay  Varina, N.C. , Amanda Temanson of Aldie , Va. and Kristen Leavel of Richmond,Va. brothers, Tilman Hughes and Daniel Hughes of  Loris, S.C. and Andrew Hughes of New Port News , Va.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Moore officiating with burial following in the Church Cemetery .
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the New Hope Baptist Church Fellowship  Hall from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
The Family would like to thank all of the Care Givers at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility and Liberty  Hospice  Group for their professional care given to Mrs. McQueen.
