Kay (Thompson) Huggins

Lake Waccamaw: Kay Thompson Huggins, 75 of Lake Waccamaw died Tuesday, April 2, 2019.  She was the Daughter of the late Carl F. Thompson and Belva Higgins Thompson. She was a member of Whiteville First Baptist Church and was a founding member of the grief committee. Mrs Huggins served as a deaf translator and was a Sunday school teacher at Whiteville First Baptist Church for many years. She worked in education as an elementary school teacher for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Willard Hooks “Pete” Huggins.

Survivors include her daughters; Mary Carl H. Christy (Jeff) of Kernersville, N.C. and Tricia H. Sanderson ( Kirby) of Whiteville, N.C., sister; Patricia T. Trotter of Holden Beach, Grandchildren;  Leah Sanderson, Carly Sanderson and Jack Christy.

Funeral Service will be Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Clore officiating with burial following in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church fellowship hall from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
