Kathleen Williams Hayes Roberts

Kathleen Williams Hayes Roberts went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 31, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She was born on June 2, 1930 to Ernest Williams and Lela Ward Williams.  She has been a resident of Whiteville, NC for over 80 years.  

Kathleen retired from Belk with 30 plus years of service and was a devoted, hard working member of New Life Community Church.

She loved spending time with her family, working in the church and making her yard look beautiful with her creative touch with flowers.  Kathleen had a heart for others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son; Craig Land and daughter in law; Pam Land.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Charles Roberts, two sons; Chris Land (Cathy) of Warrenton, Ga. & John Ricky Land of Whiteville, NC, a sister; Patricia Nobles (Ray) of Whiteville, N.C., a granddaughter; Nicole Land and four grandsons; Allan Land (Crystal), Clint Land, Nathan Land (Linsey), and Tyler Williamson.  Beloved and devoted step mother of Charles W. Roberts, Carol Graves (Ernie), Clyde Northrop (Chrissy), Gene Northrop (Maika), Margaret Day and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at New Life Community Church, Whiteville, NC, Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 11:00 am with Pastor Charles Cribb officiating. Burial will follow at Columbus Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at McKenzie Mortuary.
