James Harry Piver, Jr.

James Harry Piver, Jr., age 76, formerly of Whiteville, died March 19, 2019 in Coarsegold, CA where he resided with his daughter.  He was born on January 28, 1943 to the late James Harry Piver, Sr. & Linnie Mae Ward Piver.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Burns Piver, brothers; J. Hubert Piver & Jerry Talmadge Piver, sisters; Margaret Vick and Virginia Taylor.

Jim was a proud Navy Veteran.  After being honorably discharged from the Navy he settled down in Florida where he worked at IMC Agrico and E One Emergency Vehicles & Rescue Trucks.  He was a heavy duty diesel mechanic.  He enjoyed bass fishing and participated in several tournaments.  Jim was a member of Nakina Baptist Church and enjoyed going on Mission Trips with the youth.

He is survived by his daughters; Wanda Fernandez (Eric) of Phoenix, AZ., Brenda Hutto (Thomas) of Coarsegold, CA., grandchildren; Danielle, Liam and Thomas, sisters; Vera Mae Simmons, Evelyn Surles, Marie Ward and Ramona Puckett, brothers; James Piver, Bobby Piver and Mitchell Piver, special friend; Betty Hodge.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Nakina Baptist Church with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am prior to the service in the sanctuary.
