Ileta Sasser Long

Whiteville :  Ileta Sasser Long, 87 of the Pleasant Plains Community died Friday, December 13, 2019 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. She was the daughter of the late James Washington Sasser and Retha Jones Sasser and was preceded in death by her husband,James Milton "Micky ' Long and a grandson, Matt Edwards.

She worked with Southern National Bank  for many years and retired with BB&T Bank in Whiteville, N.C., worked with the Town of Middlesburg, Va. and  the Catholic University in DC.

Her greatest  accomplishment  was being chosen by God to be the mother to her special son, Jim.

Survivors include her daughter:Kay Rogers (Dan) of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C./ Whiteville,N.C. and a son, Jimmy Collier of Whiteville, N.C., sister, Mary Sasser Martin of Statesville, N.C., Grandson, Jonathan Rogers (Samantha ) of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., Granddaughter-in law, Holly Edwards of Edwardsburg, Michigan, nephew, Ron Harris (Kathy)  of Statesville, N.C., three great-granddaughters, Isabella Rogers, Savanah Rogers and Alanah Rogers, two great-grandsons, Landen Edwards-Gross and Ryder Edwards- Gross.and last her Church Family at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2:00 p..m. at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church with Dr. Dave Heller officiating with burial following at Columbus Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday  from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.  at the church prior to the service.
