Gussie Edwards Godwin

Newport, N.C. : Gussie Edwards Godwin, 93 of Newport, formerly of Exxum, N.C.  in Brunswick County died Monday, October 8, 2018 . She was the daughter of the late Hanson Edwards and Clemie Milligan, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Godwin. She was a former member of New Life Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Nina G. Russo of  Newport, N.C. and Karen Kendall Carter (Patrick) of Kinston, N.C. Two Grandsons,  Christopher Atchinson and Candace of Clayton, N.C. and John Kendall and Crystal  of Kinston, N.C. and one Great-Granddaughter, Mia Kendall of Kinston, N.C.

A Chapel Service will be on Wednesday, October 10, 2018  at 2:00 p.m. at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel  with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the New Life Baptist Church Cemetery.
